Signs of Aging + Facial Volume

One of the key signs of aging is volume loss in the face. Fortunately a new product called Voluma can help women to halt these changes. Voluma comes to us from Allergan, the same people who brought us Botox, Juvederm, and Latisse.

Face Volume in Your 20’s

When women are in there 20’s they tend to have very full round faces. This round full look is secondary to a significant amount of fat being present throughout the face and especially in the cheeks.

Face Volume in Your 30’s

As we age we tend to loose that volume. This can have very attractive effects in ones 30’s as the face becomes shapelier. The loss of fat causes a hollowing of the area below the cheeks. This tends to have very attractive effects where a woman still has a very youthful appearance but they have lost their “baby fat”.

Face Volume in Your 40-50’s

As women reach their 40-50’s this loss of facial volume progresses. They begin to have a “flatter” face at that point. This is a point in time when a facial filler like Voluma can make such a difference.

Voluma – FDA Approved Fillers and Other Injectables

Voluma is the first and only FDA-approved filler to add volume specifically to the cheek area. It’s able to give the cheeks a subtle lift and restore contour to the area that has been lost with age. The product is a filler like Juvederm, but it’s also fundamentally different in its method of action. Juvederm works on different areas of the face to smooth wrinkles around the mouth and nose, while Voluma specifically adds volume to the cheek.

Voluma is a Hyaluronic Acid filler that has been shown to last for up to 2 years. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume.
