Meet 3 of Our Most Popular Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers allow you to restore volume you’ve lost—or give you the volume you always wish you had. Parson Skin Center offers a suite of the best, most effective, and safest dermal fillers to meet your needs. We know the sheer quantity of dermal fillers available can be overwhelming, which is why today we’re going to focus on three of our most popular dermal fillers: Sculptra, Juvederm, and Restylane.

Sculptra for the face doesn’t just “fill in” lines or hollowness, but it actually kick-starts collagen production. Collagen is what your body naturally produced in abundance when you were younger, which means Sculptra gives you results that are natural-looking. With Sculptra, you can soften wrinkles, restore or create facial contours, and literally turn back the clock with the help of a collagen burst.

Benefits of Sculptra

Sculptra works on a deeper level, repairing the scaffolding of the face that can exacerbate signs of aging. It’s a fantastic choice for bony places like the cheekbones that tend to get more prominent with age. Softening this area and others, such as the temple, is a subtle yet stunning way to achieve rejuvenation. Where skin begins to really thin in the face is often where signs of aging are most prominent.

Beyond the very natural results that reveal themselves in the weeks following your treatment (collagen production takes time!), you can also count on long-lasting results with Sculptra. Remember, this isn’t a quick fix: you’re actually creating collagen and it doesn’t disappear very quickly. Sculptra typically lasts much longer than other fillers, but you do need a little patience to see the results you’re after. On average, clients opt for maintenance injections every two years instead of every few months.

A Fan Favorite: Juvederm

Most dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid (HA) to achieve instant results, and that includes Juvederm. For those who want immediate results, Juvederm can rejuvenate facial contours, improve signs of aging, and can be used in many places on the face—there’s even special types of Juvederm for each facial area. Within the “family” of Juvederm products, each item has different concentrations and bonding types of HA so that the results are customized.

For example, Juvederm Voluma XC is designed to soften and plump the cheeks in all the right ways. You can use Juvederm XC or Juvederm Vollure XC for skin laxity, wrinkles, and lines around the nose and mouth (sometimes called the smile lines). Juvederm Volbella XC and Juvederm Ultra XC are perfect for lip enhancement. Our before and after gallery is an excellent way to gauge the kind of results you can expect, and can help you narrow down which dermal filler is right for you.

All About Restylane

Restylane is also an HA-based dermal filler, but it’s meant exclusively for plumping cheeks and lips, smoothing out wrinkles, and even reducing the dark undereye circles. The main difference between Juvederm and Restylane is the areas they are designed to treat. Some Restylane products, such as Lyft, have lidocaine (a numbing agent) for added comfort. However, some Juvederm products (particularly for the lips) also come with lidocaine.

Most clients who want an HA filler prefer either Juvederm or Restylane based on how long it takes results to show—and how long they last. Juvederm effects are immediate, though some swelling is to be expected with any filler. Results last 1 – 2 years on average. Restylane also offers immediate results, but can take a few weeks for the “full” effects to show up. This dermal filler lasts 6 – 18 months on average, making it a favorite for those who want to try out a look before fully committing.
