5 Quick Procedures to Get Holiday-Ready

Don’t have much time to get ready before the holiday events? Don’t worry—Parson Skin Center has a suite of treatments and procedures with little to no downtime. We can help you look and feel your best just in time to ring in 2023 with some treatments and procedures requiring just a few minutes that yield immediate results. Here are our top 5 picks for the year:

1. Chemical peels. Superficial/light and medium peels are a great way to erase superficial imperfections including light lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, oversized pores, poor tone and texture, and skin laxity. Many light peels require no downtime at all, though skin might look a little rough for a couple of days. Chemical peels are available for all skin tones and types, but it’s a good idea to give yourself a one-week grace period if you’re gearing up for a big event. Since chemical peels work by removing the top layer of skin, you want to give yourself time for any pinkness and flaking to subside.

2. In-office facials. By definition, a facial is a topical treatment designed to improve the skin. There are thousands of different kinds of facials, but only an in-office facial uses professional-grade products for the absolute best results. We will customize a facial to suit your skin, its needs, and your goals. There is no downtime required for facials, so you can even book one of these luxe treatments the day of an event. Ingredients can be selected to help with dryness, redness, oversized pores, and many other common concerns.

3. Botox. Botox is the go-to for both preventing and stopping unwanted lines and wrinkles. You can also use it to keep perspiration in check or for a lip flip. Lip flips require tiny amounts of Botox to be injected into the upper lip, “flipping” it out to correct a gummy smile and provide the look of fuller lips. However, Botox—no matter where you inject it—also takes a few days to work. Like a chemical peel, plan for a minimum of one week before an event to get your Botox in order to show off the results.

4. Dermal fillers. There’s a dermal filler for every part of your face and even the backs of your hands. Most fillers are made with a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is already found in the body. Results are immediate, but slight swelling is common immediately after the injection. You will want to give yourself at least one week between getting fillers and a big event. And if you’re new to comprehensive fillers, scheduling a consult to map out a gameplan is a good idea. Increasingly, clients are using fillers as a more holistic means of turning back the clock—such as the “liquid facelift.” Fillers in the temples, cheeks, along the jawline, under the eyes, and of course the lips can all work together to give you stunning and yet natural-looking results. Most results last 6 – 18 months on average depending on the type of filler and number of syringes used.

5. HydraFacial. Even though this is technically a facial, it’s so much more that it deserves its own category. HydraFacial is a 3-in-1 treatment that cleanses/exfoliates the face, removes debris from pores, and finally bathes the skin in hand-picked medical-grade topicals. Without exfoliation and extraction, topicals can’t do their best work. Getting a facial without exfoliating and extracting first will only yield partial results. HydraFacials use a wet vac to seriously cleanse the skin, leaving it dewy and glowing. If you really want to keep results going, schedule monthly HydraFacial sessions.

We also offer a variety of other treatments to help you look your holiday best. Right now is a great time of year to re-commit to self-care, which includes a proper at-home regimen using medical-grade products to complement in-office procedures. Let’s work together to determine a plan that works for you and your skin’s needs. We still have holiday appointments available, so book yours today.
