You don’t want to overdo it following surgery, or else you pose the risk of setting your recovery back. Your body needs time to heal. During a tummy tuck, your skin is stretched and muscles sutured, so any extensive activity could possibly put a strain on the treated area. This does not mean, however, you should be on bedrest. You’ll need to walk and stay mobile per Dr. Parson’s directions and as you feel comfortable doing so. This helps to prevent blood clots.

Follow Doctor’s Order

It’s imperative that you follow his directions. He may advise you to wear a compression garment or on how to handle any drain tubes placed. Eat for Recovery

Naturally, after your tummy tuck you’ll want to eat a healthy diet to maintain your results; however, what you eat during the days immediately following surgery can have a significant impact on your comfort and recovery. It goes without saying – stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help flush out toxins. Diets rich in vitamins A and C, which include meat, eggs, and leafy greens, will help fight off infections and promote healing. Stay away from salty foods that can cause you to feel bloated as well as foods that might cause gas, such as soda, beans, and cabbage.
