What to Expect with Breast Enhancement
What can I expect on my first visit when I come to your Scottsdale breast enhancement clinic?
When you come to our Scottsdale breast enhancement clinic, you will consult with our top certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Shaun Parson. He will review your medical and family history and discuss what your goals are regarding breast enhancement. He will examine you and discuss all the issues pertaining to your current breast size, your desires, and what is and is not surgically possible. If you have not had a mammogram within the year, one will be arranged for you. Be assured that together you will review all of the information and make the choice that is best for you.
Are you ready for cosmetic surgery?
There are 5 questions you should ask yourself before committing to cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. Enter your email address below to find out what they are or call today to speak with Dr. Parson.
Is the procedure performed at your Scottsdale breast enhancement Surgery Center?
Your procedure will be performed at our Scottsdale breast enhancement surgery center, the Piper Surgery Center. With state of-the-art equipment and with a highly experienced and certified medical staff, your safety is well assured. You will receive first class hospital-standard care at our modern surgical facility before, during, and after your breast enhancement procedure.
Is silicone breast enhancement the only type of breast augmentation surgery you do?
Silicone breast enhancement is not the only type of breast enhancement surgery we do. During your first visit, the type of breast enhancement surgery will be determined based on a variety of factors. For example, the doctor will explain whether he recommends silicone breast enhancement, or saline implants. A variety of types and sizes of implants are available. The doctor will recommend the one that best suits your body and your goals.
Are there any breast enhancement methods that do not require surgical implants?
There are many claims advertising breast enhancement without using implants. It is our educated and researched opinion that they do not work. Injections do not work. Any kind of “special” cream promising breast enhancement will not work. No one who claims breast enhancement can occur naturally is telling you the truth (unless you are at an age when you are still developing).
What is involved in the breast enhancement procedure?
We want you to be fully knowledgeable about the breast enhancement procedure so you will know what to expect. The breast enhancement procedure, an outpatient surgery, normally takes about 2 hours, depending upon which anesthesia our board-certified anesthesiologist administers.
For the first 24 hours after surgery, you will need a responsible adult who can help you with taking your medications, eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom. You can expect some discomfort; however, pain medications, as well as antibiotics will be prescribed for you.
You will receive additional information during your first and follow-up visits, as well as on the day of your surgery.
Who is the plastic surgeon that will perform the cosmetic surgery?
Dr. Shaun Parson is our certified plastic surgeon with many years of experience. Trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Dr. Parson was Chairman of Plastic Surgery and Chief of Surgery at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Hospital. He is a Diplomate of The American Board of Plastic Surgery and The American Board of Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Parson is a Member the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and The American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
How much does breast enhancement cost?
The cost of breast enhancement varies a great deal. We set our prices according to which procedure or procedures you require. Cost will be discussed during your first consultation, and you will receive written confirmation of the price in advance of your procedure.
Do you take before and after photographs?
At your request we do take before and after photographs. Normally, we give copies of the before and after picas to our patients if they want them. We will NEVER use your before or after photos without your permission. We assure you that your photos are not readily accessible and that we treat confidentiality and privacy with the utmost seriousness.
Do you review my status after the initial surgery?
Absolutely! We always review your physical status after surgery. We call your home the day following your procedure to check on how you are doing. Before you even leave the surgical center, we will make an appointment for you to see Dr. Parson 2 or 3 days after surgery to assess and review your progress. He will give you very specific instructions about what you need to do following that post-operative visit. Your health and your physical and emotional well-being are primary.
